CAMS has traditionally been focused on the sporting aspect of motor sport and has been the voice and support organisation for over 400 sporting/competitive car clubs throughout Australia. CAMS has recognised that Enthusiast or social car clubs are an important facet of the overall motoring scene in Australia and further recognises that it can offer services to and assist such clubs through its existing structure and management.

Both sporting and enthusiast car clubs are important to CAMS, and in light of this, CAMS is now providing a membership option for enthusiast clubs or social car clubs called Enthusiast Club. Enthusiast Clubs affiliating with CAMS will be able to share in the wide range of benefits CAMS has to offer. CAMS still offers it full membership affiliation product (called Gear Up) for those clubs focused on the sporting / competitive aspect of motor sport.
