2009 ARC calendar released

With preparations for 2009 under way, the Australian Rally Commission (ARCom) considered it appropriate to release the draft calendar for the 2009 Australian Rally Championship (ARC).

At this stage the calendar is subject to confirmation by the CAMS Board and the dates allocated for some rounds are still to be confirmed.

We trust that presenting you with this information will allow you to begin moving forward on your plans for next season.

It should be noted that expressions of interest for promoters of both New South Wales and Victorian rounds are currently being reviewed by CAMS. Positive news is anticipated in this regard and you will be advised as soon as these events are confirmed on the ARC calendar.

With the changes to the structure of the Championship, including the addition of one extra event for individual competitors, plus Rally Australia as part of the Manufacturers’ Championship, the following information relating to the scoring of Championship should be noted.

For the 2009 ARC, a crew’s best six rounds will count towards points for the Outright/Elite & 2WD Championships, the best five rounds for the Privateers Cup and the best four rounds counting for the Premier League.

The 2009 ARC Sporting and Technical Regulations are currently being updated and these will be available on the CAMS website shortly.
