Shorts to be trialled in Pit Lane

The CAMS Board has recently approved an amendment to the Clothing Standards for circuit activities to allow teams to wear shorts in Pit Lane.

The amendment will be trialled at all V8 Supercar and Shannons National Racing Series events conducted between August 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008.

The trial will permit team personnel to wear shorts in Pit Lane with the exception of the following:

• During any race where a compulsory Pit Stop is scheduled, shorts will not be permitted to be worn in Pit Lane.
• During any session in which refuelling is permitted in Pit Lane, shorts will not be permitted to be worn in Pit Lane.

Should the trial prove successful, it is envisaged that this amendment will be adopted across all circuit activity from January 1, 2009.

The appropriate regulatory changes will be advised in a bulletin, which will be available on the CAMS website.
