Australian Motor Sport Development Commission

The Australian Motor Sport Development Commission (AMSDC) was formally established on 1 January 2009 in response to specific needs identified by car clubs, and will have responsibility for all matters relating to the support, development and growth of club level motor sport activities and car clubs and their membership.

Functions and Responsibilities of AMSDC

  • Responsibility to consider and make recommendations to the Board on National Competition Rules as they may apply to club level motor sport and car clubs
  • Specifically charged with the responsibility for strategic planning and development of Auto Test activities (eg: Khanacross, Motorkhana, Observed Section Trials) and the development and monitoring of technical and sporting regulations
  • Specifically charged with the responsibility for strategic planning and development of Speed activities (eg: Autocross, Hillclimb, Lap Dash/Sprints, Supersprints) and the development and monitoring of technical and sporting regulations
  • Review and recommendation of paperwork, systems and procedures required by CAMS for club level activities
  • The marketing of CAMS club affiliation to affiliated and non-affiliated car clubs, working in conjunction with the Australian Marque/Touring/Enthusiasts Commission
  • Proactive advice and support with safety related matters at clubs and for club activity
  • Advice on ways to improve and simplify communication between CAMS and car clubs
  • Any other matter delegated by the Board and/or Chief Executive Officer on club level motor sport or car clubs
