A joint initiative between CAMS and Aussie Racing Cars, the Aussie Young Gun program integrates into the overall CAMS Sports Development Program and provides the selected drivers with an opportunity to compete in an exciting and highly entertaining category. The CAMS Aussie Young Gun will be allocated a vehicle in the Aussie Racing Cars National Series, liveried with a special design and CAMS branding; including scheduled maintenance, pre-race preparation, transportation, technical race assistance, track support, availability of spare engines and spare parts at the track, and emergency crash repairs performed at the race track. The opportunity comes with a significant subsidy in the cost to the driver, in recognition of the organisation's commitment to fostering young participation in the sport. The driver will need to make a financial contribution towards their involvement in the program, but this amount is significantly less than what would normally be required to enter this level of competition. Drivers will also have the opportunity to be considered for participation in the CAMS Australian Institute of Sport Development Program. The driver selection and development will be administered through the existing CAMS Sports Development Programs and is the responsibility of CAMS.
