Women in Motor Sport

CAMS NSW Women in Motor Sport Program

Administered by CAMS, the program provides $3000 worth of financial assistance to one female applicant each year to be put towards a Certificate III in Motorsport at Wodonga Institute of TAFE’s Motorsports Training Australia.

The program is in partnership with the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation through its Women’s Sport Leaders Scholarship Program. This important Government initiative aims to provide more opportunities for women to improve their skills in the sport and recreation industry.

The Certificate III in Motorsport is a 12 month full time course and includes practical trackside and workshop experience as well as units in:

- Automotive
- Fitting machining
- Fabrication
- Composites (fibreglass)

While graduates move directly into the motor sport industry, some choose to go on to university (Bachelor of Engineering), while others use the course for advanced standing on an apprenticeship such as Automotive, Fitter Machinist or Fabricator. Throughout the program students are given the opportunity to engage with the industry on work placements that introduce learners to potential employers.
