Alcohol In Sport

Event organisers have been encouraged to undertake breath testing at their events following an update to the existing CAMS procedure for alcohol testing, which  more accurately reflects contemporary  community expectations.  To facilitate this, the revised procedure introduced the CAMS Accredited Testing Official (CATO) to carry out the  breath testing .

Training was carried out which  focused  both on the amended procedure and provided  training on “how to operate” and “how to take a random sample” using the Lion Alcolmeter SD 400 breath testing unit.

All those trained are now  certified to carry  out  testing  according to the  CAMS Alcohol Testing Procedure  at the request of the Organiser .
