Expressions of interest are now being sought for the 2011 CAMS Aussie Young Gun Program. This program offers a fantastic opportunity for a young driver to make the step into a national category which races at many of Australia’s best circuits.
The CAMS Aussie Young Gun Program offers talented young drivers the opportunity to better themselves and maximise their potential through training and through increasing their knowledge of what a driver physically goes through, help them prepare best for future races and championships. The CAMS Aussie Young Gun program parallels the AMSF Rising Star program in terms of training and off track activity, with the Young Gun offered many of the same opportunities as the AMSF Rising Stars.
The Young Gun program is a joint initiative of CAMS and the Aussie Racing Cars category. This program provides an opportunity for the driver to compete in this very competitive and high profile racing series which is staged across the nation as a major support at the V8 Supercar events and Bathurst at Easter. The involvement will provide the driver with an extremely cost effective base that is structured to enhance the development of his/her racing skills and display them to the best advantage in front of spectators and the live television audience.
Two drivers will be selected for the 2011 CAMS Aussie Young Gun program. CAMS Aussie Young Guns are required to attend a camp at the Australian Institute of Sport, where they are given access to some of the best training facilities, nutritionists and recovery specialists in the country. Additionally the CAMS Aussie Young Guns will be attending Phil Young Fitness Camps on the Gold Coast where they are put through extreme physical training situations to prepare them for the season ahead. These camps are conducted prior to the season and also during the season to monitor the drivers progression throughout the year.
If you are interested in applying for the 2011 CAMS Aussie Young Gun program, please send an expression of interest with relevant achievements to Robert Dunt by Friday 21st February 2011.
