Twenty-six years of thunder will be celebrated when the Victorian Historic Racing Register (VHRR) presents the 2017 Historic Sandown event in mid-November.
Regarded as one of Australia's integral historic race meetings, Historic Sandown attracts competitors from all corners of the country.
Touring car fans will see plenty of 'tin-top' action, with great cars set to featured at the event after some great battles at Sandown over the years, including Holdens, Fords, Chryslers, BMWs and Jaguars.
Open-wheels will be a prominent feature of this year's event, including Historic Formula Fords and Formula 5000.
Adding to the spectacle will be the large displays from car clubs, with more than 300 desirable vehicles set to be on display at Red Hill on the Dandenong Road end of the circuit.
Thirteen historic categories will run on the event's schedule, ranging from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Trade stands, food outlets and off-track displays will be an added bonus for race fans.
The 2017 Historic Sandown will run on 10-12 November at Sandown International Raceway, with tickets starting at $35.
