Tickets for the third edition of the Australian Motor Sport Hall of Fame are now on sale.
Presented by Speedcafe.com, the black-tie gala will be held on the Friday of the 2018 Australian Grand Prix weekend at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Former FIA World Endurance Champion Mark Webber has lent his support to the event’s launch, having previously inducting close friend Jason Crump into the Hall of Fame in 2016.
“It is a rare opportunity to have such an incredible evening with so many special individuals,” Webber said.
“It is great that fans and members of the motor sport community can come along and be a part of such a great night.”
An initiative of CAMS, the evening is a rare opportunity for multiple disciplines across four-wheeled motor sport, karting, speedway, drag racing, and motorcycling to celebrate under the one roof.
Garry Connelly AM, Hall of Fame Chairman, expressed his pride at how the event has become a not to be missed occasion within the motor sport events calendar
“It is great to have seen this event grow into something very special in just two years,” Connelly said.
“We see more and more members of the public appreciating what this night is all about and I believe we will sell out for our third event.
“Tickets would make a great Christmas gift and give the recipients something to really look forward to.”
It is a rare chance for the general public to break bread with some of motor sport’s finest here and abroad. Previous guest speakers have included Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton, Toto Wolff, and FIA President Jean Todt.
To date, 51 inductees have been welcomed into the Australian Motor Sport Hall of Fame.
“We've had so many legends turn up and contribute to that night. So for anyone that loves their motor sport, it's an absolute must to turn up,” Webber said.
“You're going to be blown away with who's in the room, and some of the really touching speeches that go on that night because it's a snapshot of so many special individual careers. It's great to hear that.”
A strictly limited number of General Admission tickets are available, and can be purchased online at cams.com.au/tickets.
