The Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) is delighted to announce it has extended its partnership with Formula SAE Australasia through to 2021.
Formula SAE-A is an international student competition aimed around teams designing, construction and racing combustion and/or electric race cars up to 710cc/80kW
The program gives competing students the chance to develop skills in design, management, manufacturing, communication and business operations, as well as provide them with experience of working for a fully-functional race team.
Through the partnership, CAMS will continue to provide Formula SAE – Australasia with permits, while also providing continued support to further develop the event in future years.
“We are really excited to be able to provide support to this program for another three years,” CAMS CEO Eugene Arocca said.
“The experiences and opportunities Formula SAE – A offers students is invaluable with graduates often highly sought after from industry employers.
“Hopefully CAMS’ continued support of Formula SAE – A can inspire the next generation of future stars within motor sport.”
With the 2018 event to take place at Winton Motor Raceway on 6 – 10 December, Formula SAE-A President, Adrian Feeney, was delighted with the extension and the opportunity to branch out into regional Victoria.
“SAE Australasia are excited to continue our working relationship with CAMS and secure the running of Formula SAE-A into the future,” Feeney said.
“There are exciting opportunities in moving Formula SAE-A regionally to Winton Raceway and it is fantastic to have the support of CAMS in making this transition.
“We look forward to working with CAMS and growing the event further.”
