An overwhelming number of early bird entries have been submitted for the inaugural Targa Great Barrier Reef.
With regular entries now open, 163 crews have officially entered the August event, which will take place as round three of the CAMS Australian Targa Championship.
“With seven months still to go before the roar of Targa cars hits Cairns, the excitement is already unprecedented for any new Targa event, since the first ever Targa Tasmania was announced way back in 1991,” said targa.com.au.
To be held over three days, 15 stages and 200 kilometres of closed road, crews looking to register are invited to visit targa.com.au for more information.
Meanwhile, anticipation is building for the opening round of the CAMS Australian Targa Championship at Targa North West.
The event has doubled in length and will this year be held across two days and 170 kilometres of stages. Traditionally, North West is the stepping-stone event to April’s Targa Tasmania.
Targa North West will take place on the weekend of 17–18 February.
