McIntyre fastest in CMI Hillclimb

The Club Motori Italia Tasmania have hosted the third round of the Tasmanian Hillclimb series which saw Rob McIntyre claim the fastest run on the popular Baskerville course.

Heading a 38-strong field, the Subaru pilot produced an unbeaten time of 33.36 in his second last run of the day to add another win to his previous round victory in June.

On his final run of the day, Nissan GTR driver Jamie Lonergan came agonisingly close to McIntyre’s time, producing an impressive 33.96 to secure second place.

It was a tight battle for the final spot on the podium, as Peter Pisko and his Audi TTrs beat VW Golf driver Omar Hasan by just five hundredths of a second, with the drivers posting final run times of 36.55 and 33.60 respectively.

Michael Esther and Michael Bellinger’s final runs were also enough to secure fifth and sixth position, with Esther’s time of 37.02 just enough to hold out Bellinger’s 37.11.

Despite missing out on the top five, Bellinger was able to win his class, while Rick Burt, Scott Wyman, Steve Turner and Michael Elliott all won their respective class.

Other accolades presented at the event saw Kim Morgan presented with Class It-a award,Philip Blake the Class It-b and Jordan Howlett awarded the coveted Best Presented award.

The next round of the Tasmanian Hillclimb series takes place on 11 November when the Porsche Club of Tasmania hosts the event at Baskerville.
