To ensure stewards maintain the highest possible standards in their duties, CAMS will host a second refresher course in Western Australia on 10 November.
CAMS CEO Eugene Arocca said these sessions would help ensure stewards were kept up to date with the latest trends and issues in the sport.
“The first refresher session was very well received and while some of the participants weren’t sure that it was for them, they left with a wealth of new knowledge to build on a strong base,” Arocca said.
“We believe these courses will be beneficial for the stewards themselves of course, reaffirming some of their knowledge, but we hope it will also benefit competitors and officials who regularly deal with the stewards.”
Topics covered in the three hour course include: issuing of infringement notices, how to provide advice to drivers, Stewards’ Hearings, Protest Hearings and other relevant general information.
Stewards who did not attend the September course must attend the November event if they wish to continue to be eligible to officiate in National or State level events.
