The CAMS Queensland Motor Sport Officials Expo was held again at Holden, the Driving Centre on Sunday 2 February.
It was the third time this event had been held in Queensland and the turnout of participants was high with over 100 attendees and 16 presenters.
The Expo is a joint venture between CAMS and the Queensland State Officiating Panel.
With information stations including Communications, Stewarding, Fire and Rescue, Scrutiny and Flags there was plenty to see and learn.
Attendee Jenn Southwell was impressed with the day’s set up.
“It’s been great. I’ve learnt a lot already.” She said.
Even the presenters were happy with the day and those that attended.
“I enjoyed the day and am encouraged by the response of participants.” Said Off Road presenter Andy Hickson.
The Expo, which is held every two years, included a mock Stewards Hearing in which a ‘competitor’ was charged and witnesses were heard, before a final decision was handed down.
The day finished with everyone out by the track to view several practical Flag Marshal scenarios, kindly demonstrated by members of the Qld Series X3 Club Inc.
CAMS and the Queensland State Officiating Panel would like to thank everyone involved in organising and presenting the Expo and all those who attended on the day.
