The CAMS Medical Standards were formed in conjunction with NMAC (National Medical Advisory Committee) and act as the framework for the minimum medical clearance required to get a licence.

Medical clearance is required for all licences, ranging from a basic health statement to a full medical examination. See below to find out what the minimum requirements are for your discipline.

Motor sport is an inherently dangerous activity which is why CAMS is committed to the safety of all competitors, volunteers and spectators who are passionate lovers of our sport.

Speed, Rally and Off Road:

• Annual Heath Statement with additional medical clearance for listed conditions.

Circuit/Superkart:

• Annual Heath Statement with additional medical clearance for listed conditions.
• First-time applicants of all ages require a full CAMS Medical Examination.
• Applicants over age 45 require a medical examination every second year.
• A resting ECG is required with all medicals.

International Licences:

• Annual Heath Statement with additional medical clearance for listed conditions.
• Applicants of all ages require an annual medical examination.
• A resting ECG is required with all medicals, however applicants over age 45 require a stress ECG every second year.
