Following one of the most successful Targa events to ever be held, early bird entries for the 2019 Targa Great Barrier Reef have now been opened.

With the field to be capped at 250 competitors, entries have been opened due to popular demand from the Targa faithful in an attempt to book their spot early.

This year saw more than 200 drivers take part in the inaugural Targa Great Barrier Reef that covered scenic locations as Cairns, Gillies and Kuranda Ranges, Lake Morris Road and Lake Eacham.

Targa Tasmania winners Jason and John White were crowned champions of the historic event, finishing 53 seconds over Paul Stokell and CAMS Australian Rally Championship co-driver Malcolm Read.

Early bird entries for the 2019 Targa Great Barrier Reef will close on Friday, 30 November with all entrants required to place a $500 deposit.

The 2019 Targa Great Barrier Reef will run from Friday 30 August – Sunday, 1 September 2019 along a similar course with Cairns to provide the base for the tarmac rally.
