Australian driver John Martin has claimed pole in the LMP2 class for this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Driving for ADR-Delta in the Oreca 03 Nissan, Martin set a time 0.4 seconds faster than the second in class OAK Racing Morgan-Judd.
Pole in the LMP2 class will see Martin start 14th overall, behind the LMP1 contenders and in front of a strong field of 19 LMP2 runners.
It is a great result for the Australian who is taking part in the inaugural World Endurance Championship for ADR-Delta, and follows a second placed finish at the 6 Hours of Spa.
Fellow Australian David Brabham will start from 11th position in the JRM Racing Honda LMP1. The team were hampered by having to change a cracked gearbox and lost much of the second qualifying session.
The Le Mans 24 Hours gets under way this Saturday at 11:00pm (AEST).
